WHY BUY AN ENERGY-EFFICIENT WATER HEATER?
There are few developed countries in the world that use more energy per capita than
Canada. If Canadians were to develop more energy-efficient homes and lifestyles, we
would greatly reduce our energy consumption as a nation. Water heating is the second
largest energy consumer in your home, accounting for about 22% of your energy costs.
Most hot water heaters made over 5-7 years ago are likely to consume a lot more
energy than newer advanced models. Even though most hot water heaters will last for
over a decade, if your heater is over 7 years old, you may want to consider replacing
it with a new energy-efficient model. By making a few small changes to your water
heating system and to your water consumption behaviour , you can see huge energy
savings benefits. Not only will you being doing your part to save the planet, you’ll also
be bringing extra savings to your family pocketbook as well.
